Celina, OH – Mercer County Sheriff Jeff Grey announced today that additional deputies will be assigned to work targeted areas during the upcoming Thanksgiving Holiday. Traditionally Thanksgiving is a very high travel holiday with more than normal motorists. Deputies will be assigned to specific townships and will specifically be focusing on three areas: impaired driving, distracted driving, and speeding. Deputies will be assigned to Franklin, Jefferson, and Butler Townships during the upcoming Thanksgiving Holiday blitz.
Sheriff Grey States “The goal is to keep the motoring public safe, not to ruin a celebrations. The Purpose is for Deputies to be visible and hopefully deter bad driving.” Sheriff Grey also reminds motorists to “Never drive while being impaired, and always wear your seatbelts. Never text while driving and direct your full attention to your driving and the roadway”
