Mercer County Sheriff Jeff Grey announced today that his office has received a prescription drug drop box from the National Association of Drug Diversion Investigators, from Lutherville, Maryland.
The National Association of Drug Diversion Investigators (NADDI) is a non-profit organization that facilitates cooperation between law enforcement, healthcare professionals, state regulatory agencies and pharmaceutical manufacturers in the prevention and investigation of prescription drug diversion.
NADDI also sponsors and conducts specialized educational seminars and conferences.
This drug drop box will allow individuals to drop off unused prescription drugs at the Sheriff’s Office anytime during normal business hours for destruction. The items can be taken inside the lobby at the Sheriff’s Office at 4835 State Route 29, Celina, and placed inside the white drug drop box.
Any items dropped off should be in pill or patch form only, no liquids or needles will be accepted.
