Mercer County Sheriff Jeff Grey has issued a Level 1 snow alert for unincorporated areas of Mercer County. Roadways are hazardous with blowing and drifting snow. Use caution while driving.



The Mercer County Sheriff will issue Snow Alerts on a “Level 1, 2, or 3” system. The levels are defined as follows:

Level 1 Snow Alert: Roadways are hazardous, icy, with blowing and drifting snow.

Level 2 Snow Alert: Roadways are hazardous with blowing and drifting snow. Only those who feel it necessary to drive should be out on the roadways. Citizens should contact their employer to see if they should report to work.

Level 3 Snow Alert: Some or most county roadways are impassable to regular vehicle traffic and all Mercer County roadways are closed to non-emergency personnel. No one should be out during these conditions unless it is absolutely necessary to travel. Citizens should contact their employer to see if they should report to work. Persons traveling on Mercer County roadways may subject themselves to arrest.
