5th Traffic Fatality

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

CELINA, OH - Mercer County Sheriff Jeff Grey released details tonight of Mercer County’s 5^th traffic fatality of 2011. The Sheriff’s Office received a call at 5:22 PM of a crash on Celina-Mendon Road between Siler and Krugh Roads in Center Township, near Mendon.

Killed was Shirissa D. Seibert, 19, 110 North Green Street, Mendon, who was the driver and sole occupant of a 2008 Pontiac. The investigation revealed that Seibert was westbound on Celina-Mendon Road when, for an unknown reason, she traveled left of center, then lost control and traveled back off the right side of the roadway, striking a ditch. The Pontiac rolled several times on impact with the ditch and Seibert was ejected.

Seibert was taken to Joint Township Hospital in St. Mary’s by Celina EMS where she was pronounced dead.

Deputies were assisted at the scene by member of MCERV and the Mendon Union Volunteer Fire Department. The crash remains under investigation.
