Vores Welding Theft - 4/5/2013

On 04-05-2013at approx. 1408 hours a deputy responded to Vore's Welding and Steel, 3234 SR 49, Ft. Recovery in regards to a theft.  Upon arrival the deputy was advised that someone had entered a tool trailer at that location and stole (1) DeWalt Cordless Impact Wrench and (2) DeWalt Cordless Drills.  The deputy was advised that the incident occurred sometime between 1730 hours on 04-04-2013 and 0900 hours on 04-05-2013.  Anyone with additional information or leads should contact Sgt. Court House Security


The Mercer County Sheriff’s Office is in charge of security at the Mercer County Courthouse. The Court Security Division ensures the safety and security of the court buildings and of the people who appear and work in them. Court security facilitates and maximizes the efficiency of all judicial and other courthouse functions.

The Court Security Division assists in delivery of in-custody defendants to and from the courthouse in a safe and secure manner. Deputies also provide general security for the courts.

 
 
 
 

Unsolved Crimes

·         On 2-28-15 a deputy was dispatched to Woodhaven trailer court on Karafit Rd in Franklin Township in reference to possible burglaries at multiple lots.  Some of the campers/trailers were broken in to and it is unknown what items are missing at this time.  This incident occurred between February 27th at 12:30 PM and February 28th at 12:15 PM.

 

·         On 3-8-15 a Franklin Township resident came to the Sheriff’s Office to report stolen firearms.  The following firearms were reported stolen from the residence:

 

o   A Ruger Blackhawk 44 magnum revolver with a 10 and ½ inch barrel. It has black pachmayr grips and was in a leather holster. 

o   A Glock, model 29 10mm handgun with tritium glow in the dark sights that no longer work, with one loaded 15 round magazine.

o   A Thompson Contender with oversized wooden grips that had interchangeable barrels being a .45 long colt and a 410 barrel.

o   A Heritage Arms revolver still in the box also with interchangeable barrels of a .22 caliber long rifle and a .22 magnum.

 

The Ruger was last seen on February 8th, 2015 and the other three were last seen in January 2015.

Reserve Deputies

Reserve Deputies assist the Sheriff's Office with a variety of operations. These Deputies are peace officer certified in the State of Ohio and are required to meet all training and certification mandates. The Deputies assist the Sheriff by working with each division of the Sheriff's Office. Reserve Deputies also assist with traffic control at parades and provides security at local events.  In addition, they may be called upon to assist with searches and investigations.
