Vores Welding Theft - 4/5/2013

On 04-05-2013at approx. 1408 hours a deputy responded to Vore's Welding and Steel, 3234 SR 49, Ft. Recovery in regards to a theft.  Upon arrival the deputy was advised that someone had entered a tool trailer at that location and stole (1) DeWalt Cordless Impact Wrench and (2) DeWalt Cordless Drills.  The deputy was advised that the incident occurred sometime between 1730 hours on 04-04-2013 and 0900 hours on 04-05-2013.  Anyone with additional information or leads should contact Sgt. Court House Security


The Mercer County Sheriff’s Office is in charge of security at the Mercer County Courthouse. The Court Security Division ensures the safety and security of the court buildings and of the people who appear and work in them. Court security facilitates and maximizes the efficiency of all judicial and other courthouse functions.

The Court Security Division assists in delivery of in-custody defendants to and from the courthouse in a safe and secure manner. Deputies also provide general security for the courts.

 
 
 
 

Unsolved Crimes

•On 6/14/2016 a deputy of the Sheriff’s Office was dispatched to Harbor Point Dr. in reference to a breaking and entering that occurred at the Ohio Marine Inc building.  The following items were taken: 2 used boat batteries (he knew 1 was an Interstate battery), 7 quarts of two cycle engine oil, 2 dozen night crawlers, 1 package of wax worms, 1 spool of catfish line, 4 candy suckers, pop, and t-shirts.  There was also a different building that was broken in to that had hand tools taken.  One of the tools was a corded Milwaukee circular saw, red in color.  This is believed to have taken place between 6/13/2016 at 9:30 PM and 6/14/2016 at 6:30 PM.  
 
•On 6/01/2016 a property damage report was taken at the Spiritual Center of Maria Stein at 2365 St Johns Rd.  The center has been having issues with suspected juveniles damaging the wooded area while driving unauthorized ATVs, dirt bikes, and golf carts on the property.  They had first noticed suspicious activity in the Winter of last year.  The suspect(s) have been damaging trees, creek banks, and clearing wooded areas attempting to make room to drive their vehicles.  It is believed that this on-going activity is occurring after the staff leaves around 4:00 PM.
 
•On 5/15/2016 a deputy of the Sheriff’s Office took a theft report for a resident of Union Township.  The owner advised that a vehicle parked at the home had been entered and the following items were missing from inside the trunk: various tools (sockets, hammers, carpentry tools, a Craftsman metal tool box and tools in John Deere boxes) and a used car battery.  It is unclear when this incident may have taken place.

Reserve Deputies

Reserve Deputies assist the Sheriff's Office with a variety of operations. These Deputies are peace officer certified in the State of Ohio and are required to meet all training and certification mandates. The Deputies assist the Sheriff by working with each division of the Sheriff's Office. Reserve Deputies also assist with traffic control at parades and provides security at local events.  In addition, they may be called upon to assist with searches and investigations.
