Vores Welding Theft - 4/5/2013

On 04-05-2013at approx. 1408 hours a deputy responded to Vore's Welding and Steel, 3234 SR 49, Ft. Recovery in regards to a theft.  Upon arrival the deputy was advised that someone had entered a tool trailer at that location and stole (1) DeWalt Cordless Impact Wrench and (2) DeWalt Cordless Drills.  The deputy was advised that the incident occurred sometime between 1730 hours on 04-04-2013 and 0900 hours on 04-05-2013.  Anyone with additional information or leads should contact Sgt. Court House Security


The Mercer County Sheriff’s Office is in charge of security at the Mercer County Courthouse. The Court Security Division ensures the safety and security of the court buildings and of the people who appear and work in them. Court security facilitates and maximizes the efficiency of all judicial and other courthouse functions.

The Court Security Division assists in delivery of in-custody defendants to and from the courthouse in a safe and secure manner. Deputies also provide general security for the courts.

 
 
 
 

Unsolved Crimes

  On 6-29-14 the Mercer County Sheriff’s Office responded to a residence in Franklin Township for the theft of a yellow Cub Cadet walk behind lawn mower. Deputies found the lawn mower to have been taken from the residence between the hours of 9:00PM June 28th and 6:00AM June 29th. 

 

  On 7-1-14 Deputies took a report of a stolen riding lawn mower from a residence in Jefferson Township.  The mower is a yellow riding Cub Cadet LTX mower with an uneven deck.  It is believed to have been taken from the property between the evening of June 28th and 8:30AM July 1st.

 

  On 07-10-2014 a deputy was called to numerous residences in the Northern portion of Mercer County in regards to property damage.  The deputy responded to (18) different residences on Wabash Rd., SR 117, Hamilton Rd., and Tomlinson Rd.  A report was completed on damage to (18) mailboxes, (1) newspaper box, and (2) marker posts.  The mailboxes appeared to have been struck by a sharp object and many of them had their flag removed.  The incident is believed to have occurred between the evening of 07-09-14 and the morning of 07-10-14. 

 

  A 2005 Chevy Cobalt, white in color with the front grill missing and some black marks/scratches on the front bumper was stolen from the driveway of a residence in Franklin Township.  It was last seen on 7-12-14 at about 10:00PM and found missing on 7-13-14 at about 8:00AM.  The vehicle has Ohio plates, EWG-9486.

Reserve Deputies

Reserve Deputies assist the Sheriff's Office with a variety of operations. These Deputies are peace officer certified in the State of Ohio and are required to meet all training and certification mandates. The Deputies assist the Sheriff by working with each division of the Sheriff's Office. Reserve Deputies also assist with traffic control at parades and provides security at local events.  In addition, they may be called upon to assist with searches and investigations.
